Final Exercise: Day of Magnificence

Today, we write your north star! The page (or pages) that will guide your journey through this community. This was one of the first coaching exercises I created and still features heavily in my work. The aim of the exercise is this: design a day which you would be content to live over and over again (so no eternal Mai Tai’s on the beach or climbing Mt. Everest unless you really want to.

So from waking up to going to sleep, we will create a vision of what this day looks like to you.

Again, remove all distractions and collect your writing utensils – let’s begin.

Some Pointers

You’ll note this is called the Day of Magnificence rather than a Perfect Day – perfection does not exist, and stops us in our tracks while we wait for the perfect conditions. Personally, I think perfection is just another word for procrastination.

You’ll want to work on this exercise until it excites you. The more questions you answer, and the more attempts you make will bring you more insight and clarity on this.

Below you’ll find lists and lists of questions for you to use:

  1. Morning Routine: How do you wake up? What time? How do you feel when you open your eyes? What does your bedroom look like? Is there anything specific you do to start the day positively?

It’s important to note that not all questions need to be answered – in fact, the questions you don’t feel attracted to are just as important as the ones you are attracted to.

This allows you to be discerning in your desires, and start to flex your ‘no’ muscles.

Once you’re happy with the document report back to The Group with your Day of Magnificence. Bonus points for asking questions to others to help them refine their vision further.

See you in the next one.
