Emotional Exploration: Desire Mapping

We’ve checked in with our desires, we’ve checked in with our values. Now, we add the final component to begin our journey towards desire – something to evoke motion – emotion! 

Unlike traditional goal-setting, we want to explore how we want to feel and use this as a template to aid us in finding out what we want to achieve. Through introspection and self-compassion, this exercise unveils hidden passions, leading us to live in alignment with our true selves. 

Time for another writing task. 

  1. Reflect on your Life 
    Reflect on your current life and identify the aspects of your day-to-day which bring you joy, fulfilment, and excitement. 

  2. Explore Passions
    Next, explore your passions. This section will prompt you to uncover the activities or pursuits that ignite a deep sense of enthusiasm within you. Reflect on hobbies, interests, or creative expressions that make time seem to fly by. 

  3. Analyse Patterns and Insights
    Review your notes, and reflections – look for recurring themes, patterns, or connections between your desires and your desired emotions.

You can also look to your past for peak experiences which brought you joy, fulfilment, excitement or any other emotion you desire.
